Description
Service passenger vehicles and light trucks by mounting and demounting tires, repairing flats, balancing wheels, and installing wheel-related accessories. Inspect rims, beads, and tires for damage; replace valve stems and service TPMS components. Collect payment for services and supplies. May rotate tires, torque wheels, and assist with inventory and shop upkeep.
  • • Process customer payments and issue receipts.
  • • Mount and demount tires from rims using tire-changing equipment.
  • • Repair punctures using approved plug/patch methods and replace valve stems or TPMS service kits.
  • • Balance wheels and install wheel weights.
  • • Rotate tires and set pressures to manufacturer specifications.
  • • Inspect rims and tires for cracks, bends, tread wear, and leaks; report findings.
  • • Torque lug nuts or bolts to specification and re-torque as required.
  • • Clean and prep bead and rim surfaces and apply mounting lubricants.
  • • Operate and maintain tire machines, balancers, jacks, and torque tools.
  • • Keep bays, tools, and parking areas clean; dispose of scrap tires and waste properly.
  • • Assist with ordering, receiving, labeling, and stocking tires and wheel accessories.
  • • Prepare daily logs of tire services, sales, and work performed.
  • • Maintain customer records and reminders for rotations or tire inspections.
  • • Explain tire options, TPMS care, and safety recommendations to customers.
