Lead teaching, research, and service in earth, atmospheric, marine, or space sciences by developing courses, mentoring students, conducting scholarly research, and contributing to departmental and professional governance.
  • • Conduct original research and publish in peer-reviewed journals, books, and digital media.
  • • Write competitive grant proposals to secure external funding.
  • • Stay current in the field through literature review, collaboration, and professional conferences.
  • • Supervise undergraduate and graduate research, internships, and teaching assistants.
  • • Design and deliver undergraduate and graduate lectures in earth, atmospheric, marine, or space sciences.
  • • Oversee laboratory and field activities to ensure rigor and safety.
  • • Evaluate and grade coursework, exams, and projects.
  • • Develop syllabi, assignments, rubrics, and other course materials.

  • • Create, administer, and grade examinations or supervise graders.

  • • Undertake administrative service, including program coordination or department leadership.
  • • Select and procure textbooks, software, and laboratory or field equipment.
  • • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
  • • Compile bibliographies and resources for outside reading and independent study.
  • • Provide professional consulting or expert advice to government, industry, or NGOs.
  • • Advise and support student organizations and clubs.
  • • Engage in campus, outreach, and community events.
  • • Acquire, manage, and maintain research instruments and data infrastructure.
  • • Review manuscripts and grant proposals; serve on editorial or review panels.
