Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and lead research in atmospheric, earth, marine, or space sciences; mentor students and contribute to departmental leadership and service.
  • • Lead original research in atmospheric, earth, marine, or space sciences and publish in peer-reviewed outlets.
  • • Serve as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on grants and secure external funding.
  • • Stay current with advances through literature, seminars, and professional conferences.
  • • Mentor and supervise graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and undergraduate researchers.
  • • Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses (e.g., structural geology, micrometeorology, atmospheric thermodynamics).
  • • Oversee laboratory, modeling, and field activities with attention to safety and compliance.
  • • Evaluate and grade student work and provide timely feedback.
  • • Prepare syllabi, assignments, labs, and other course materials.
  • • Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary teaching and research initiatives.
  • • Design, administer, and grade examinations or supervise teaching assistants who do so.
  • • Lead curriculum development and continuous course improvement.
  • • Facilitate engaging classroom and online discussions.
  • • Hold regular office hours and provide academic support to students.
  • • Advise students on degree progress, research opportunities, and career paths.
  • • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and assessment data.
  • • Participate in recruitment, admissions, and student placement activities.
  • • Perform academic service, including chairing or serving on departmental and university committees.
  • • Select textbooks, software, and laboratory or field equipment.
  • • Contribute to departmental governance and strategic planning.
  • • Compile and update reading lists and bibliographies for courses and research groups.
  • • Provide expert consulting or outreach to government, industry, or community partners.
  • • Advise and support student organizations and teams.
  • • Organize and participate in campus, community, and K-12 outreach events.
  • • Manage research facilities, budgets, and purchasing for projects.
  • • Review manuscripts and grant proposals and serve on editorial boards or review panels.
  • • Communicate science to the public and media as needed.
