  • • Create and manage museum archives and digital asset repositories, leveraging current preservation and access technologies.
  • • Organize collection and institutional records using museum-specific taxonomies and finding aids to facilitate access.
  • • Appraise and verify provenance of collection records, artist files, and exhibition documentation.
  • • Provide reference services to curators, staff, scholars, and the public.
  • • Supervise staff and volunteers processing, cataloging, and preparing archival materials for exhibition and loans.
  • • Prepare finding aids, catalog records, and metadata for archival collections and time-based media.
  • • Implement preservation and reformatting strategies for paper, photographic, and audiovisual records to ensure long-term access.
  • • Develop and enforce access, rights, and reproduction policies aligned with museum standards.
  • • Identify, acquire, and accession archival materials that document the museum’s collections, exhibitions, and institutional history.
  • • Conduct provenance and contextual research to document the significance of archival holdings.
  • • Specialize in relevant subject areas to guide retention and acquisition decisions.
  • • Collaborate on exhibitions, interpretive materials, and public programs that feature archival content.
  • • Select and prepare archival materials for exhibits, catalogs, and digital platforms, ensuring accurate context and rights clearance.
