Description
Rescue, stabilize, and transport abandoned, injured, or at-risk animals, document welfare concerns, and coordinate veterinary care and safe placement.
- • Reunite lost animals with owners by checking IDs, microchips, and local registries.
- • Write activity reports and maintain records of intakes, treatments, outcomes, and placements.
- • Respond to reports of injured, trapped, abandoned, or mistreated animals; interview witnesses and document findings.
- • Safely capture animals from hazardous or abusive situations using humane traps, nets, or restraint tools.
- • Triage animals for injuries, illness, or malnutrition and arrange necessary veterinary treatment.
- • Transport rescued animals and transfer them to shelters, clinics, or foster homes, ensuring safe handling.
- • Coordinate humane euthanasia with licensed veterinarians when medically or legally required.
- • Provide animals with food, water, cleaning, and comfort during temporary care.
- • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, transport crates, vehicles, and rescue equipment.
- • Photograph scenes and animals, collect basic evidence, and provide statements or testimony to support cruelty or neglect cases.
- • Educate the public on animal welfare, responsible ownership, and available rescue resources.
