Description
Coordinate day-to-day flight operations to ensure safe, efficient departures and arrivals. Liaise among flight crews, air traffic control, maintenance, and ground services; prepare and amend flight plans; disseminate weather and NOTAMs; monitor flights and turnarounds; maintain operational records; and uphold safety and regulatory compliance.
- • Implement flight operations safety procedures and standard operating protocols.
- • Coordinate day-of-operations flight schedule, slots, and aircraft/crew assignments.
- • Liaise with ATC, airport operations, maintenance, and ground handlers to support departures and arrivals.
- • Monitor aircraft status, gate/stand assignments, fueling, catering, loading, and turnaround milestones.
- • Maintain continuous radio/phone/data link communication with flight crews and ramp personnel.
- • Train and brief operations staff on procedures, systems, and irregular operations response.
- • Relay departure, arrival, delay, diversion, and aircraft status to leadership and controlling agencies.
- • Prepare, file, amend, and close flight plans; distribute NOTAMs, weather, and operational advisories.
- • Coordinate communications between dispatch, ATC, maintenance control, and crew scheduling.
- • Oversee flight operations center activities, including flight following and operational control per policy.
- • Receive, transmit, and control operational message traffic and documentation.
- • Collect, enter, and post weather, NOTAM, and route data; verify flight release information.
- • Maintain flight logs, movement reports, and crew duty and rest records.
- • Arrange crew hotels, ground transportation, and other logistics for scheduled and irregular operations.
- • Collaborate to build and adjust flight schedules and crew pairings.
- • Coordinate itinerary and routing changes with ATC and airport authorities.
- • Forecast and arrange aircraft equipment, MEL considerations, and ground service needs for flights.
- • Provide flight crews with performance data, weight and balance inputs, and airport/airspace advisories.
- • Conduct pre-departure and arrival briefings with crews and ground teams.
- • Use flight planning, performance, and communications systems to execute duties.
- • Maintain real-time operations displays, status boards, and alerts.
- • File and coordinate international permits, overflight/landing permissions, and slot reservations as required.
- • Support response to diversions, medical events, and other irregular operations; initiate contingency plans.
- • Coordinate winter operations, deicing, and adverse weather procedures with airport and ground services.
