Description
Ensure safe, efficient airfield operations and aircraft movements by coordinating with ATC, maintenance, and flight crews; dispatching; operating landing and navigational aids; enforcing safety procedures; maintaining flight records; and applying weather and NOTAM information.
  • • Implement airfield safety procedures to maintain a safe operating environment.
  • • Support planning and coordination of airfield construction and maintenance.
  • • Coordinate with ATC, civil engineers, emergency services, and command posts to support airfield operations.
  • • Monitor aircraft arrival, parking, servicing, loading, and departure.
  • • Maintain air-to-ground and point-to-point radio communications with aircrews.
  • • Assist in training operations personnel.
  • • Relay departures, arrivals, delays, and airfield status to controlling agencies.
  • • Provide flight planning resources, publications, charts, NOTAMs, and weather information.
  • • Coordinate communications between air traffic control and maintenance personnel.
  • • Perform airfield management activities, including mobile operations support.
  • • Receive, transmit, and control message traffic.
  • • Process and post weather, NOTAMs, and flight plan data.
  • • Maintain flight and event logs, aircrew records, and flight operations records.
  • • Coordinate aircrew billeting, messing, refueling, ground transportation, and transient maintenance.
  • • Assist in planning flight schedules and crew assignments.
  • • Coordinate flight itinerary changes with ATC.
  • • Anticipate equipment and support needs for air evacuation and cargo missions.
  • • Provide aircrews with required information and services for flight planning and airfield operations.
  • • Conduct departure and arrival briefings.
  • • Operate airfield lighting, landing, and navigational aids and digital communications systems.
  • • Post and update visual display and status boards.
  • • Verify military flight plans with civilian agencies.
  • • Assist in responding to aircraft, security, and medical emergencies.
  • • Monitor and mitigate wildlife hazards on and around the airfield.
  • • Inspect runways, taxiways, and movement areas for regulatory compliance and FOD.
  • • Inspect airport property and perimeter to maintain controlled access to the airfield.
  • • Assist with airport-wide coordination of snow and ice control on runways and taxiways.
