  • • Set glue patterns and adjust machine components, widths, lengths, material thickness, and adhesive application rates.
  • • Monitor gluer operations to detect misfeeds, glue skips, or malfunctions and resolve or report issues.
  • • Read job tickets and coordinate with coworkers to confirm equipment setup, materials, and quality standards.
  • • Fill reservoirs with glue, cement, or adhesives and maintain proper levels.
  • • Mount and feed paper, paperboard, wood, plastic, rubber, or veneer into gluing equipment.
  • • Maintain production records for quantities, dimensions, waste, and material thicknesses.
  • • Start machines and use controls to feed materials and adhesives and set temperature, pressure, and time.
  • • Run test samples and adjust settings to ensure products meet specifications.
  • • Clear jams or build-ups and readjust components to resume normal operations.
  • • Align and register materials to ensure accurate adhesive application or heat sealing.
  • • Observe gauges, sensors, and control panels for temperatures, pressures, glue viscosity, and line speed.
  • • Remove, stack, and package completed materials or products and restock feed materials.
  • • Clean and maintain gluing heads, rollers, tanks, and conveyors using solutions, lubricants, brushes, and scrapers.
