Description
Set up and operate adhesive bonding machines to join materials for in-process assembly or finished products, including plywood veneers, paper, rubber and rubberized fabrics, plastics, simulated leather, and similar materials.
- • Inspect and measure finished parts to verify specifications using tape measures, gauges, or calipers.
- • Set and adjust machine widths, lengths, pressures, temperatures, and adhesive amounts per specifications.
- • Monitor machine operation to detect and resolve malfunctions.
- • Read work orders and coordinate settings, materials, and output requirements with coworkers.
- • Fill reservoirs with glue, cement, or other adhesives.
- • Load and align materials (paper, plastic, wood, rubber) in feeders and fixtures.
- • Record production data such as quantities, dimensions, and material thicknesses.
- • Start machines and operate valves and controls to feed materials and apply adhesives.
- • Run test pieces and fine-tune settings to meet quality standards.
- • Clear jams and reset components to resume normal operation.
- • Align and position parts for accurate adhesive or heat-seal application.
- • Observe gauges, meters, and control panels for temperatures, pressures, and feed speeds.
- • Unload, stack, and label completed parts; replenish incoming materials.
- • Clean and maintain bonding equipment using approved cleaners, lubricants, brushes, and scrapers.
- • Move materials and finished goods between work and storage areas using forklifts or pallet jacks.
- • Mix and prepare adhesive batches as specified.
