Description
Analyze public problems and evaluate existing and proposed policies using qualitative and quantitative research. Synthesize evidence, model outcomes, and advise decision makers on policy options, program design, and regulatory or legislative changes.
  • • Prepare policy briefs, reports, and publications summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • • Analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to assess policy impacts.
  • • Design and conduct policy research, evaluations, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • • Collect data through surveys, interviews, administrative datasets, and literature reviews.
  • • Develop, pilot, and refine data collection instruments and evaluation frameworks.
  • • Provide briefings and testimony to agency leaders, legislators, and stakeholders.
  • • Lead or coordinate the work of research assistants, statisticians, and contractors.
  • • Advise administrators, community partners, and lawmakers on policy options and implementation strategies.
  • • Collaborate with experts in economics, public health, law, and program operations on cross-cutting analyses.
  • • Develop evidence-based policy recommendations and implementation plans.
  • • Monitor programs and policies, track performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
  • • Design and assess policy pilots and interventions, including logic models and theories of change.
  • • Present analyses at professional meetings, hearings, and stakeholder forums.
  • • Translate complex research for nontechnical audiences through briefs, dashboards, and presentations.
  • • Prepare grant proposals, budget justifications, or funding memos to support policy initiatives.
