Provide permanent hair removal on the face and body using electrolysis. Assess skin and hair, operate epilators, and deliver safe, sanitary treatments with thorough client education and documentation.
  • • Sterilize instruments, use single-use probes, and disinfect treatment areas.
  • • Maintain detailed client records, consent forms, and treatment notes.
  • • Examine hair and skin with magnification to assess suitability and plan care.
  • • Explain the electrolysis process, risks, expectations, and aftercare.
  • • Select modality and settings (galvanic, thermolysis, blend) for each follicle.
  • • Cleanse and prep skin with antiseptics before treatment.
  • • Insert a sterile probe into the follicle and deliver current accurately.
  • • Remove treated hair with sterile forceps without traction.
  • • Apply post-treatment soothing products and counsel on home care.
  • • Schedule treatment series based on hair growth cycles.
  • • Monitor skin response and adjust technique for comfort and safety.
  • • Manage pain-control options within scope and advise over-the-counter numbing products.
  • • Identify contraindications and refer clients to medical professionals when needed.
  • • Maintain and calibrate epilators, magnifiers, and related equipment.
  • • Follow bloodborne pathogen standards, infection control, and state regulations.
  • • Educate clients on preventing ingrown hairs and irritation.
  • • Collaborate with dermatologists for complex skin or hormonal conditions.
  • • Stay current on electrolysis techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
