Description
Transport and assist patients within radiology, including x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and interventional suites, using wheelchairs, stretchers, or movable beds. Prepare patients and rooms for imaging by providing safe transfers, basic positioning support, and radiation/MRI safety compliance; clean, disinfect, and restock equipment and supplies.

- • Safely transport patients with oxygen, IV lines, drains, or monitors, maintaining continuity of care.
- • Clean and sanitize imaging rooms, tables, coils, immobilizers, and high-touch surfaces.
- • Disinfect accessories and supplies using approved germicides; document cleaning.
- • Change soiled linens and restock gowns, sheets, pillows, and blankets in radiology.
- • Stock imaging rooms and carts with positioning aids, contrast prep supplies, syringes, tubing, and PPE within scope.
- • Move and stage nonpowered equipment and supplies, such as lead shields and positioning devices, between rooms.
- • Transport specimens, requisitions, CDs, or reports between radiology, lab, and other departments with proper documentation.
- • Collect and transport biohazard waste and sharps containers per policy for disposal or sterilization.
- • Respond to emergencies in radiology; summon help, bring the crash cart, and assist as directed.
- • Restrain or supervise patients when necessary to prevent injury, per policy and under staff direction.
- • Report equipment problems or safety hazards with wheelchairs, stretchers, or imaging room fixtures.
- • Maintain tidy waiting, recovery, and work areas; separate recyclables and waste per policy.
