Perform on the violin as a soloist or ensemble member for live concerts, broadcasts, and studio recordings.
  • • Perform before live audiences in concerts, recitals, educational events, and other venues.
  • • Play solo unaccompanied works or with piano, orchestra, or rhythm section.
  • • Interpret music using appropriate bowing, fingering, articulation, dynamics, and tone.
  • • Specialize in orchestral, chamber, solo, jazz, or folk/fiddle repertoire.
  • • Perform as a soloist or as a member of an orchestra, quartet, or other ensemble.
  • • Observe conductors or concertmasters for cues, tempo, and style.
  • • Memorize pieces or perform from printed notation or by ear.
  • • Sight-read violin parts during rehearsals and performances.

  • • Promote personal or ensemble projects through media appearances, social platforms, and outreach.
  • • Research composers, historical context, and performance practice for works.
  • • Learn stagecraft, movement, or basic acting as required for onstage productions.
  • • Transpose or adapt parts to alternate keys or to fit ensemble needs and styles.
  • • Lead the violin section or serve as concertmaster; coordinate bowings and cue entries.
  • • Compose pieces or create violin and string arrangements.
  • • Arrange and edit music to fit instrumentation, venue, and audience.
  • • Improvise solos or accompaniment in styles that require it.
  • • Collaborate with a manager or agent on bookings, contracts, and logistics.
  • • Perform for television, radio, film, or streaming productions.
  • • Rehearse individually and with ensembles to master repertoire and maintain technique.
  • • Maintain and tune the violin; select strings, bows, and rosin; coordinate repairs.
