Description
Lead the artistic direction of musical ensembles, conducting rehearsals and performances, selecting repertoire, preparing scores, and coordinating musicians, schedules, and resources to deliver cohesive, high-quality musical programs.
- • Use conducting gestures to communicate tempo, phrasing, dynamics, and tone.
- • Direct rehearsals and performances to achieve balance, rhythm, and ensemble cohesion.
- • Study and mark scores to develop interpretations and rehearsal plans.
- • Select repertoire based on ensemble abilities, audience, and programming goals.
- • Determine seating, balance, and placement of sections to optimize sound.
