Description
Lead and deliver mining projects from feasibility to handover, coordinating geology, mine design, safety, schedules, budgets, procurement, and permitting to achieve safe, economical, and environmentally responsible extraction and infrastructure.
- • Audit project and operating areas for unsafe structures, equipment, and working conditions; drive corrective actions.
- • Plan mine development and extraction projects, selecting locations, methods, labor, and equipment for safe, economical, and compliant operations.
- • Lead feasibility studies by analyzing geologic data, maps, drilling results, accessibility, and profitability.
- • Develop project scopes, schedules, CAPEX/OPEX estimates, and cash‑flow forecasts.
- • Monitor progress, production, and cost KPIs; analyze data and recommend performance improvements.
- • Coordinate the engineering design and implementation of mines, facilities, ground support, ventilation, and utilities across disciplines.
- • Prepare technical reports, design packages, and presentations for engineering, operations, and management stakeholders.
- • Plan and coordinate project safety programs, emergency preparedness, and compliance with MSHA and company standards.
- • Develop ventilation plans; verify air quality and specify controls such as fans, regulators, and shafts.
- • Use and customize mine-planning, modeling, and mapping software to support design, scheduling, and condition monitoring.
- • Specify materials-handling systems and equipment for efficient ore, waste, and product movement.
- • Incorporate environmental compliance, water management, and reclamation requirements into project designs; mitigate air and noise impacts.
- • Plan and oversee construction of shafts, tunnels, and surface infrastructure; supervise contractors and QA/QC.
- • Manage procurement, contracting strategies, budgets, and change control throughout the project lifecycle.
- • Lead risk assessments and maintain risk registers; implement mitigation and contingency plans.
- • Coordinate permitting and regulatory submissions; interface with regulators, communities, and other stakeholders.
- • Support commissioning, ramp-up, and handover to operations; capture lessons learned and update standards.
- • Lead and mentor project engineers, technicians, and survey staff; coordinate with geology, survey, and operations teams.
