Description
Plan, monitor, and optimize daily mine production to meet safety, cost, and quality targets. Develop short- and medium-term schedules; specify extraction methods, ground support, and equipment; coordinate drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and backfilling; analyze performance data; and drive continuous improvement while ensuring regulatory, safety, and environmental compliance.
- • Monitor production KPIs and reconcile actuals to plan, model, and ore control targets.
- • Inspect production areas for unsafe ground, equipment, and work practices; correct nonconformances.
- • Coordinate drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and backfill activities to meet targets.
- • Optimize extraction methods, ground support, and materials handling for safety, cost, and recovery.
- • Interpret geologic models, survey data, and maps to define ore boundaries and minimize dilution.
- • Manage ore routing, stockpiles, and blending with the processing plant.
- • Optimize haulage routes, fleet utilization, and dispatch parameters to reduce cycle times.
- • Use and configure mine planning, scheduling, and dispatch software; maintain accurate digital models.
- • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production, variance, and KPI reports for management.
- • Coordinate ventilation requirements and gas monitoring with safety and ventilation teams.
- • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in production activities.
- • Coordinate development and infrastructure work affecting production, such as headings, raises, and services.
- • Lead root-cause analyses of delays and losses; implement continuous improvement actions.
- • Plan and execute trials of new methods, explosives, technologies, or equipment and assess results.
- • Collaborate with maintenance and vendors on equipment selection, availability, and performance improvements.
- • Supervise and mentor engineers, technicians, and production crews; provide training and shift support.
- • Plan short- and medium-term production sequences, stope layouts, and development priorities.
- • Prepare shift plans, production schedules, and operating cost estimates and budgets.
