Description
Respond to emergencies and disasters to locate, rescue, and aid people in danger, ensure scene safety, and coordinate with emergency services.
  • • Rescue persons in distress using approved techniques and rescue equipment.
  • • Request EMS, fire, or law enforcement support and coordinate on scene.
  • • Patrol or monitor assigned areas, incidents, or disaster zones to identify hazards and people needing assistance.
  • • Assess patients and provide first aid, CPR, or other prehospital care using training and medical supplies.
  • • Educate the public on safety practices, evacuation routes, and hazard awareness.
  • • Warn the public of imminent hazards, unsafe conditions, or restricted areas.
  • • Document incidents, patient care, and scene conditions per protocol.
  • • Inspect and maintain rescue gear, vehicles, ropes, and tools for safety and readiness.
  • • Assist with selection, training, and supervision of team members and volunteers.
  • • Maintain safe, clean staging areas, shelters, and command posts.
  • • Conduct lookout and search operations using visual aids to detect hazards, victims, or disturbances.
  • • Assist civilians with safe evacuation and use of rescue equipment during operations.
  • • Operate specialized rescue and recovery equipment, including boats, winches, and underwater recovery units.
  • • Participate in drills, exercises, and community outreach demonstrations.
  • • Perform routine checks and minor repairs to vehicles and equipment.
