Description
Patrol parks and natural areas to protect visitors and resources, enforce regulations, provide education, and respond to emergencies.
- • Patrol trails, campgrounds, waterways, and facilities by foot, boat, bike, or vehicle.
- • Enforce park regulations and issue warnings or citations as needed.
- • Rescue and assist distressed visitors using approved techniques and equipment.
- • Assess injuries and administer first aid or CPR; coordinate EMS response.
- • Educate visitors on safety, rules, wildlife awareness, and Leave No Trace.
- • Lead interpretive talks, guided hikes, and outreach programs.
- • Warn visitors of hazardous conditions, closures, weather, or wildlife activity.
- • Complete logs and reports on patrols, incidents, citations, and resource conditions.
- • Inspect trails, campsites, buildings, vehicles, and signs for hazards or damage.
- • Maintain cleanliness and order in campgrounds, trailheads, and day-use areas.
- • Monitor visitor activities to detect hazards, disturbances, or violations.
- • Assist with permits, fee collection, and safe use of amenities such as boat ramps and fire rings.
- • Operate radios, GPS, boats, and off-road or snow vehicles; support search and rescue operations.
- • Assist with staff and volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision.
- • Monitor environmental conditions, including fire danger, road and trail status, and water quality; collect samples as required.
