Description
Sell and service employer group benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary plans. Advise HR on plan design, pricing, compliance, enrollment, renewals, and carrier relations as a broker or carrier representative.
  • • Consult with employers to assess workforce needs, budget, and existing benefits.
  • • Collect census, plan, and claims data to prepare group quotes and proposals.
  • • Design and recommend group benefit packages, funding strategies, and contribution models.
  • • Market plans to multiple carriers or TPAs and negotiate rates, terms, and plan provisions.
  • • Prepare underwriting submissions and obtain binders and approvals.
  • • Explain plan options, features, and trade-offs to HR teams and employees.
  • • Conduct open enrollment meetings and provide employee education materials.
  • • Ensure eligibility, participation, and required forms, including applications, waivers, and evidence of insurability.
  • • Set up billing, payroll deductions, and contribution processes.
  • • Implement benefits administration and enrollment systems and manage EDI and carrier feeds.
  • • Coordinate HSA, FSA, and HRA setup and vendor integrations.
  • • Analyze utilization and benchmarks to recommend renewals and plan changes.
  • • Assist with claims issues, escalations, and appeals for employers and members.
  • • Monitor claims and utilization to identify cost drivers and savings opportunities.
  • • Maintain client records, plan documents, and compliance notices.
  • • Advise on ACA, ERISA, COBRA, Medicare coordination, and required reporting.
  • • Prepare and respond to RFPs and deliver finalist presentations.
  • • Develop prospecting and referral strategies to grow the book of business.
  • • Attend carrier and industry trainings to stay current on products and regulations.
