Description
Inspect and document the condition of automobiles and other vehicles to estimate reconditioning and repair costs for resale, lease-end, fleet, or trade-in decisions. Prepare detailed condition reports, cost estimates, and recommendations using standard labor and parts guides. Coordinate with repair facilities or vendors to align on scope and cost of reconditioning.
  • • Inspect exterior, structural, mechanical, electrical, and interior components to identify damage, wear, and missing equipment.
  • • Estimate parts and labor for reconditioning and repairs using standard cost guides and repair knowledge.
  • • Produce condition reports with photos, VIN and mileage verification, and graded assessments.
  • • Review and reconcile repair and reconditioning estimates with shops or vendors to secure agreement on scope and pricing.
  • • Assess the practicality of reconditioning versus selling as-is, wholesaling, or disposal.
  • • Determine as-is and post-reconditioning market values and note diminished or salvage value considerations.
  • • Arrange secondary inspections or expert evaluations to resolve discrepancies or complex findings.
