Description
Plan, initiate, and lead cybersecurity programs and projects. Coordinate security engineers, analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver controls and reduce risk. Serve as liaison between business, compliance, and technical security teams. Define project phases, align to frameworks and regulations, and assess business and risk impacts at each stage. Track execution to meet security objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • • Perform cybersecurity risk assessments and define mitigation and response strategies.
  • • Submit security deliverables (security plans, runbooks, test results) meeting standards and compliance.
  • • Monitor security project team performance and document feedback.
  • • Confer with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to resolve security issues.
  • • Assess customer and regulatory security requirements through interviews, surveys, and reviews.
  • • Schedule and facilitate standups, threat reviews, and security project meetings.
  • • Track milestones, control implementations, and deliverables.
  • • Negotiate with stakeholders and vendors for security tools, services, and resources.
  • • Initiate, review, or approve changes to security project scopes and plans.
  • • Identify, evaluate, and select security vendors, MSSPs, or consultants.
  • • Establish and execute a security communication plan for status, risks, and incidents.
  • • Identify and justify needs for additional security staff, tools, or budget.
  • • Direct and coordinate activities of security project personnel and partners.
  • • Develop implementation plans with cost-benefit and risk reduction analysis.
  • • Coordinate hiring or engagement of security specialists and pen testers.
  • • Develop and manage budgets for cybersecurity initiatives.
  • • Assign roles, responsibilities, and access authorities to project personnel.
  • • Prepare security status reports and dashboards, summarizing KPIs and trends.
  • • Manage execution to meet security requirements, schedule, scope, and budget.
  • • Develop or update cybersecurity project plans covering objectives, controls, technology, funding, and staffing.
  • • Build and manage the work breakdown structure for security projects.
