Coordinate the planning, development, maintenance, and use of organizational GIS data, systems, and services. Manage GIS projects, standards, and workflows; perform spatial analysis and cartography; support and train users; and liaise with stakeholders and vendors to deliver reliable geospatial products.
- • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate GIS projects, requests, and timelines.
- • Produce data layers, maps, tables, and reports using GIS and spatial analysis.
- • Oversee maintenance, versioning, and quality control of enterprise GIS databases.
- • Establish and enforce GIS data standards, naming conventions, and workflows.
- • Design and prepare cartographic products with effective symbology and layouts.
- • Provide technical guidance and support to users on GIS tools, data, and processes.
- • Coordinate collection, compilation, and integration of GIS data from internal and external sources.
- • Review incoming and existing datasets for accuracy, currency, and completeness.
- • Perform advanced geospatial analysis, modeling, and data manipulation to support decisions.
- • Design, document, and test GIS models, scripts, and automated workflows.
- • Coordinate development and deployment of web maps, map services, and dashboards.
- • Manage user access, roles, and permissions for GIS platforms and applications.
- • Confer with stakeholders to define requirements and propose GIS solutions.
- • Prepare training materials and deliver training or presentations to GIS users.
- • Troubleshoot and resolve GIS application, data, or performance issues.
- • Coordinate upgrades and maintenance for GIS software, servers, and equipment.
- • Evaluate and recommend GIS software, datasets, procedures, or equipment improvements.
- • Assist users in formulating GIS requirements and understanding solution trade-offs.
- • Integrate GPS, survey, remote sensing, or photogrammetric data into GIS.
- • Create, convert, and transfer data using specialized GIS and data management tools.
- • Maintain metadata, change logs, and project documentation for GIS assets.
- • Monitor and report on availability and performance of GIS services and applications.
- • Ensure data backup, security, and compliance with governance and privacy policies.
- • Coordinate cross-departmental GIS initiatives, committees, and vendor relationships.
- • Apply 3D or 4D technologies to geospatial data for analysis and visualization.
- • Stay current with GIS trends through continuing education and professional engagement.
