Description
Lead daily operations of a preschool or childcare site, overseeing staff, programs, safety, compliance, budgeting, facilities, and family engagement, including before- and after-school care.
  • • Partner with families and staff to address policies and child developmental or behavioral concerns.
  • • Maintain site attendance, incident, licensing, financial, and personnel records; submit required reports.
  • • Implement educational standards and site policies; set goals and ensure procedures are followed.
  • • Monitor child progress and coach teachers to resolve classroom or individual challenges.
  • • Manage the site budget, allocate resources, and authorize purchases of supplies and equipment.
  • • Recruit, hire, onboard, schedule, supervise, and evaluate site staff; recommend HR actions.
  • • Direct daily activities of teachers, aides, and support staff.
  • • Oversee curriculum implementation and enrichment activities; observe instruction and provide feedback.
  • • Ensure compliance with licensing, health, safety, and sanitation regulations; maintain emergency and security procedures.
  • • Develop site schedules, ratios, and room assignments to meet enrollment and staffing needs.
  • • Assess program quality and compliance; implement improvements based on observations and data.
  • • Provide classroom coverage or direct care to children as needed.
  • • Prepare budget requests and contribute to grant, subsidy, or fundraising proposals.
  • • Lead site communications and marketing, including newsletters, tours, and program materials.
  • • Track enrollment, attendance, and waitlists; analyze trends to inform staffing and programs.
  • • Build community partnerships and liaise with schools, agencies, and vendors.
  • • Coordinate specialists, therapists, volunteers, and service providers to support programs.
