Description
Oversee and control dredge vessel operations to excavate and maintain navigable channels, managing crew, production, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- • Plan dredge cuts and set parameters for pumps, suction booms, and cutterheads.
- • Direct dredge positioning with spuds, anchors, and winches; coordinate moves.
- • Authorize and oversee start and stop of engines and equipment; maintain operating logs.
- • Monitor depth gauges and hydrographic surveys to verify depths and alignment; adjust operations.
- • Supervise slurry and pipeline management, including flushing and dewatering to prevent blockages.
- • Lead and train crew placing anchors, laying pipeline to shore, and maintaining pontoons; enforce safety and compliance.
