Description
Support dredging operations by handling deck gear, anchors, and pipelines, assisting equipment operation, and performing routine maintenance to help excavate and maintain navigable waterways.
- • Operate deck winches, spuds, and rigging to position the dredge and adjust suction booms as directed.
- • Start and stop auxiliary pumps and generators; assist with equipment startups and shutdowns.
- • Set and retrieve shore anchors, mooring lines, and cables; coordinate moves with hand signals or radio.
- • Flush and clear suction and discharge pipelines; remove debris from strainers and cutterheads.
- • Take soundings and read depth gauges to verify excavation depths; report readings to the operator.
- • Lay, connect, and secure discharge pipe and pontoons; perform routine lubrication, fueling, and deck housekeeping.
