Description
Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams across travel assignments, producing high-quality images of organs and vascular structures for physicians while adapting to diverse equipment, protocols, and care settings.
- • Decide which images to include, identifying normal and pathological findings.
- • Monitor images during scans and adjust equipment to achieve diagnostic quality.
- • Observe and care for patients throughout exams to ensure safety and comfort.
- • Provide sonograms and concise written or verbal technical summaries to physicians.
- • Operate varied ultrasound systems to image blood flow, organs, tissues, and masses.
- • Select appropriate presets, optimize settings, and position patients for best views.
- • Extend or modify exams based on real-time findings and site protocols.
- • Obtain and document accurate patient histories and pertinent prior results.
- • Prepare patients by explaining procedures, transferring to the table, prepping skin, applying gel, and positioning.
- • Capture, annotate, and store images in PACS per facility standards.

- • Provide related clinical support such as obtaining vital signs and basic life support when needed.
- • Adapt quickly to new sites, equipment, protocols, and EMR/PACS workflows.
- • Coordinate schedules, shift coverage, and onboarding with staffing agencies and host facilities.
- • Maintain required certifications, immunizations, background checks, and state licensure for assigned locations.
- • Document time, procedures, and charges accurately to support billing and compliance.
