Create original or commissioned paintings, murals, and painted installations for sale and exhibition using traditional and digital techniques.
  • • Create paintings, murals, and painted installations by hand using brushes, knives, rollers, and mixed media.
  • • Prepare and construct painting surfaces—stretch and prime canvases, prep panels, mask areas, and texture grounds using appropriate tools.
  • • Select paints, substrates, mediums, and tools based on color, texture, archival quality, scale, and desired effects.
  • • Apply finishes such as varnish, fixative, or sealants and oversee framing or mounting.
  • • Develop concepts, themes, and compositions for paintings and murals.
  • • Set specifications for medium, palette, dimensions, substrate, and finishing methods.
  • • Confer with clients, curators, or art directors to assess needs, refine briefs, and obtain feedback.
  • • Create grids, stencils, or projection guides to transfer designs to surfaces.
  • • Produce studies, color tests, or scale mockups before final execution.
  • • Sketch thumbnails and detailed drawings to plan compositions.
  • • Promote artwork through websites, social media, online shops, and printed materials.
  • • Develop framing, packaging, display, and pricing strategies for originals and prints.
  • • Research art trends, venues, and collector preferences to inform style and marketing.
  • • Develop concepts and mockups using digital painting or design software.
  • • Plan and attend gallery shows, art fairs, and open studios to market work.
