Description
Operate and monitor integrated conveyor systems to move materials between stockpiles, processing areas, departments, and vehicles; control speed, routing, and flow to meet production schedules and safety standards.
- • Set deflectors, gates, chutes, and spouts to route materials between conveyors.
- • Monitor in-line scales or measuring devices to verify tonnage and prevent overloads.
- • Use HMI and controls to start conveyors and auxiliaries, and adjust speeds, timing, and material flow.
- • Log throughput, weights, types, quantities, storage locations, downtime, and performance issues.
- • Report equipment faults and alarms to supervisors or maintenance.
- • Clean and perform basic maintenance on conveyors, components, and work areas.
- • Monitor system status, sensors, and indicators to maintain operating levels and detect malfunctions.
- • Review schedules and coordinate sorting, routing, pallet arrangement, and destinations.
- • Perform minor part replacements (e.g., rollers, belts) or escalate for major repairs.
- • Communicate with departments to request moves and provide shipment ETAs.
- • Stop equipment and safely clear jams or remove damaged materials.
- • Collect and check material samples for conformance or send for analysis.
- • Load, unload, and adjust materials on conveyors using lifts, hoists, or gates.
- • Label materials or products with identifying information.
- • Deliver materials and supplies to workstations using lifts or trucks.
- • Assemble and connect hoses, nozzles, hoppers, chutes, and pumps to conveyor sections.
- • Use the console or HMI to divert packages to accumulators or reject lines.
- • Assemble conveyor sections and connect power units for temporary setups.
- • Strap and secure pallets or product loads as required.
- • Inspect moving packages to identify items, detect defects, and perform quality checks.
