Description
Operate and monitor aerial tramway systems to transport passengers or cargo between terminals. Control speed, braking, and dispatch, ensure safe loading and unloading, and maintain operations within weather and safety protocols.
- • Position loading gates, barriers, and docking guides to manage passenger flow at terminals.
- • Verify passenger counts and weight distribution to meet capacity and balance requirements.
- • Operate controls to start, stop, and regulate line speed, haul systems, and braking.
- • Record ridership, trip counts, operating hours, weather conditions, and equipment downtime.
- • Notify supervisors of malfunctions, safety issues, or unusual operating conditions.
- • Clean cabins, platforms, and machinery areas; remove snow and ice; apply approved cleaners and lubricants.
- • Monitor indicators, interlocks, CCTV, and gauges to maintain operating parameters and detect faults.
- • Review daily operating plans and weather advisories; coordinate procedures and schedules with supervisors.
- • Assist maintenance in inspecting and replacing door mechanisms, rollers, grips, sheaves, and communication devices.
- • Communicate with tower attendants, other terminals, and operations control on departures, arrivals, and delays.
- • Initiate emergency stops and clear obstructions or ice from platforms and accessible equipment.
- • Conduct pre-operation safety checks of cabins, doors, intercoms, evacuation gear, and emergency brakes.
- • Assist passengers with boarding and unloading, including skis, bikes, strollers, and mobility devices.
- • Apply and verify cabin identification and service tags during maintenance or rotation.
- • Stage and distribute safety equipment, signage, and supplies to terminals and tower locations.
- • Connect power, communications, and evacuation systems during start-up, testing, or maintenance.
- • Use console controls to open or close platform gates and dispatch or hold cabins as needed.
- • Install or remove cabins or carriers from the line and secure them in maintenance bays.
- • Secure doors and external racks; fasten passenger gear per procedures.
- • Observe cabins and riders in stations and on line to enforce rules and identify hazards or unsafe conditions.
