Description
Operate the conveyor control console to monitor, route, and regulate material flow between stockpiles, processing stations, and vehicles; adjust speeds and routing, respond to alarms, and coordinate with floor staff to maintain safe, efficient throughput.
- • Route materials by actuating diverters, gates, and chutes via the HMI.
- • Start, stop, and sequence conveyors and auxiliary equipment from the console.
- • Adjust conveyor speeds, timing, and accumulation settings to meet targets.
- • Monitor HMI/SCADA alarms, indicators, and camera feeds to detect faults.
- • Verify inline scale and scanner readings to prevent overloads and misroutes.
- • Press console controls to deflect packages to accumulators or reject lines.
- • Read schedules or wave plans and apply sort codes and destination rules.
- • Record throughput, weights, downtime, and fault codes in logs or CMMS.
- • Communicate with floor crews and departments to coordinate material flow and arrivals.
- • Initiate safe stops and coordinate jam-clear procedures per SOP and LOTO guidelines.
- • Escalate equipment malfunctions to maintenance and supervisors with clear details.
- • Trigger automated cleaning or purge cycles and maintain console area housekeeping.
- • Verify labelers, barcode readers, and vision systems status; reroute suspect items.
- • Perform startup and shutdown checklists and reset systems after faults.
- • Override or disable zones as authorized to isolate problems and maintain flow.
- • Generate and attach digital identifiers or print labels when required.
- • Create maintenance work orders and track resolution of recurring issues.
- • Ensure safety interlocks, guards, and e-stops are functional before operation.
- • Assist with testing after repairs and validate conveyor operation from the console.
