Description
Teach secondary students agricultural science, agribusiness, natural resources, and agricultural mechanics through classroom, lab, shop, greenhouse, and field experiences; manage agricultural facilities and equipment; advise FFA and supervise Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE); assess learning and ensure safety, industry relevance, and compliance with state standards.
- • Prepare lesson materials and set up classroom, shop, lab, greenhouse, and school farm for activities.

- • Provide remediation and tutoring for students requiring extra help.
- • Prepare required reports on students, program outcomes, FFA, SAE, and activities.
- • Meet with families to discuss progress, set goals, and review SAE plans and resource needs.
- • Plan and supervise agriculture class projects, farm and industry field trips, guest speakers, and career development events.
- • Attend professional meetings, ag teacher conferences, industry trainings, and workshops to maintain competence.
- • Advise the FFA chapter and coach students for leadership development, judging teams, and fairs.
- • Collaborate with staff to develop, evaluate, and revise the agriculture program of study and cross-curricular projects.
- • Place students in internships, seasonal jobs, or apprenticeships with agricultural employers or services.
- • Coordinate lesson schedules, lab/shop rotations, and land-lab or greenhouse use with colleagues.
- • Attend staff meetings and serve on school or district committees as required.
- • Perform assigned supervisory and administrative duties such as hallway, cafeteria, and bus duty.
- • Provide students with disabilities appropriate accommodations, assistive technology, and safe access to labs, shop, greenhouse, and field settings.
