Description
Lay and bind brick with mortar to construct, veneer, or repair walls, partitions, arches, chimneys, fireplaces, and other brick structures, ensuring proper alignment, strength, and finish.
- • Build plumb corners and run courses using lines to guide layout.
- • Measure and mark layout using levels, plumb bobs, and chalk lines.
- • Calculate angles, bond patterns, and vertical and horizontal alignment.
- • Install brick ties, anchors, embeds, and flashing as required.
- • Mix mortar and grout to specified proportions.
- • Spread mortar, set units, and maintain joint thickness.
- • Cut and shape brick to size with trowel edge, hammer, or power saw.
- • Tool and finish joints; remove excess mortar for a uniform appearance.
- • Read blueprints and shop drawings to determine specifications and material needs.
- • Lay and align brick for walls, veneers, arches, chimneys, and fireplaces.
