Description
Plan, direct, and coordinate an organization's records and information management program, governing the creation, classification, retention, access, and disposition of paper and electronic records. Implement policies, systems, and training to ensure legal, regulatory, security, and business requirements are met.
- • Direct and coordinate the records and information management (RIM) function.
- • Set program goals, KPIs, and deadlines for records initiatives.
- • Prepare and review RIM metrics, inventories, and audit reports for accuracy and efficiency.
- • Analyze information workflows and implement policy or procedural changes to improve capture, access, and disposition.
- • Develop and maintain records retention schedules and legal hold procedures.
- • Select, implement, and administer electronic document and records management systems (EDRMS) and related tools.
- • Classify, index, and manage metadata and taxonomies for information assets.
- • Establish and enforce access controls, privacy protections, and security for records.
- • Plan, administer, and control budgets for RIM systems, storage, and services.
- • Select, manage, and evaluate vendors for offsite storage, imaging, shredding, and content services.
- • Lead records inventories, file plans, and migrations from legacy repositories.
- • Manage paper and electronic filing systems, including storage, retrieval, and disposition.
- • Coordinate discovery, subpoenas, and public records requests with Legal and Compliance.
- • Develop operational standards, policies, and procedures for records creation, maintenance, and disposition.
- • Train and support staff on records policies, systems, and procedures.
- • Supervise records staff and oversee staffing, performance, and development.
- • Monitor regulatory requirements and contracts to ensure RIM compliance.
- • Plan and test vital records protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity for information assets.
- • Meet with business leaders to align RIM with organizational goals and technology roadmaps.
