Description
Conduct administrative hearings and adjudicate claims and disputes for government programs or regulated matters by evaluating evidence, applying law and policy, and issuing clear written determinations on eligibility, liability, sanctions, or settlements.
  • • Draft clear written determinations, findings of fact, and orders.
  • • Review applications, case files, and supporting evidence (e.g., medical, employment, licensing, or agency records).
  • • Research and apply relevant laws, regulations, policies, and precedents.
  • • Confer with claimants, witnesses, representatives, and agency staff to obtain facts.
  • • Approve, deny, or recommend settlement of claims in line with law and policy.
  • • Explain appeal rights and procedures to parties.
  • • Conduct and manage administrative hearings to ensure procedural fairness.
  • • Authorize payment of valid claims and specify disbursement methods.
  • • Hold hearings to resolve issues such as benefits eligibility, licensing, enforcement, or regulatory compliance.
  • • Rule on motions, objections, and admissibility of evidence, as authorized.
  • • Determine liability, penalties, or eligibility based on the record and controlling authority.
  • • Issue or request subpoenas and administer oaths, as permitted.
  • • Review and improve case workflows and appeals procedures for legal compliance and efficiency.
  • • Schedule and notice hearings and pre-hearing conferences.
