Description
Manage, maintain, and optimize organizational websites and web servers. Publish and update content, administer CMSs, and ensure uptime, performance, accessibility, security, and cross-browser/device compatibility. Monitor analytics, SEO, and user experience, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with developers and vendors for enhancements and integrations. Oversee domains, DNS, SSL, backups, and hosting infrastructure.
  • • Maintain and update website content, navigation, and assets via CMS or editing tools.
  • • Plan and execute scheduled website updates and releases.
  • • Monitor site uptime, performance, and errors, and resolve incidents promptly.
  • • Evaluate markup, scripts, and styles for validity, structure, and standards compliance.
  • • Test websites across browsers, devices, and assistive technologies before and after changes.
  • • Administer CMS platforms, plugins, themes, and user permissions.
  • • Manage domains, DNS records, and renewals.
  • • Install, configure, and patch web servers, application servers, and related services.
  • • Implement and manage SSL/TLS certificates and HTTPS enforcement.
  • • Configure caching, CDNs, and image optimization to improve load times.
  • • Back up websites, databases, and configurations; verify and document recovery procedures.
  • • Develop and maintain procedures for ongoing site maintenance and content governance.
  • • Monitor security logs, scan for vulnerabilities, and coordinate remediation.
  • • Implement website security controls such as firewalls, WAF rules, and access policies.
  • • Coordinate with developers, designers, and vendors to plan enhancements and resolve defects.
  • • Document technical inventories, configurations, and change histories.
  • • Track and report traffic, performance, SEO, and availability metrics.
  • • Manage analytics tags, pixels, and consent banners in compliance with privacy policies.
  • • Create and maintain sitemaps, robots.txt, redirects, and canonical URL rules.
  • • Troubleshoot hosting, network, or integration issues with ISPs and hosting providers.
  • • Select and evaluate tools, services, or platforms supporting site operations.
  • • Write or modify scripts, templates, or automation to streamline webmaster tasks.
  • • Define and enforce accessibility, content, and performance standards.
  • • Conduct user feedback reviews and translate needs into site improvements.
  • • Provide user support and maintain FAQs or automated responses.
  • • Document test plans, test cases, and results for releases and hotfixes.
  • • Incorporate legal and policy requirements, including accessibility and privacy, into site plans.
  • • Recommend and implement performance and usability improvements.
