Evaluate harness racing entries and conditions to assign handicaps, classify fields, and set morning-line odds in accordance with racing regulations. Analyze past performances and track factors, coordinate with racing officials, publish program information, and resolve eligibility or classification disputes.
  • • Handicap harness races to create balanced, competitive fields under track and commission rules.
  • • Analyze past performances, class, speed, and form to rank contenders and project outcomes.
  • • Assign post positions or other handicaps per published conditions and approved procedures.
  • • Set morning-line odds and program selections for each race.
  • • Verify entries, eligibility, conditions, and driver declarations for compliance.
  • • Review and validate timing data, speed figures, and track variants used in ratings.
  • • Conduct or oversee draws and communicate results to connections and officials.
  • • Publish handicaps, post assignments, odds lines, and program notes before wagering opens.
  • • Update odds lines and program information after scratches, driver changes, or equipment changes.
  • • Resolve appeals or complaints about classifications, handicaps, or eligibility in accordance with regulations.
  • • Coordinate with the race secretary, judges, stewards, announcer, and tote to synchronize race information.
  • • Report handicapping decisions, program changes, and late scratches to regulators and track management.
  • • Explain race conditions, class structures, and handicapping methodology to participants and patrons.
  • • Study drivers, trainers, track biases, and weather to anticipate pace and trip scenarios.
  • • Compile and maintain performance databases, class ratings, and race records.
  • • Audit program proofs and official race cards for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
