Description
Receive and disburse funds, process customer transactions, and maintain accurate records of cash and negotiable instruments for a financial institution.
- • Balance cash drawers and reconcile daily transactions using computers or calculators.
- • Cash checks and pay out funds after verifying signatures, amounts, and available balances.
- • Receive deposits; verify amounts and the accuracy of deposit slips.
- • Examine checks for proper endorsements, dates, bank names, payee identification, and legality.
- • Enter transactions into the system and issue receipts.
- • Count currency, coins, and checks by hand or machine; prepare deposits or shipments to branches or the Federal Reserve.
- • Identify and resolve out-of-balance debits and credits.
- • Prepare and verify cashier's checks and money orders.
