Description
Serve as a supervised trainee supporting speech-language pathologists in assessing and treating speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders; assist with treatment implementation, data collection, and use of augmentative communication while developing clinical competencies.
- • Observe and assist SLPs during client screenings and assessments of speech, language, voice, fluency, or hearing.
- • Implement treatment activities and home programs under direct supervision.
- • Co-facilitate remediation and development of speech and language skills with clinician oversight.
- • Collect and compile session data to document performance and program quality.
- • Document client progress toward established goals following clinic policies.
- • Set up, check, and clean therapy equipment and AAC devices after use.
- • Assist SLPs with components of speech-language research or quality improvement projects.
- • Help deliver in-service, family, or community education under supervision.
- • Prepare materials, maintain records, manage supplies, and assist with scheduling.
- • Create simple charts, graphs, or visuals to share client performance information.
- • Select or prepare instructional and AAC materials with clinician guidance.
