Description
Install, repair, and replace metal roofing systems on buildings, including standing seam, corrugated panels, and metal shingles. Fabricate and fit panels, flashings, and trim; install underlayment and insulation; and apply sealants or protective coatings to weatherproof, insulate, or soundproof roofs and exterior walls.
- • Inspect metal roofs to determine repair or replacement procedures.
- • Set up scaffolding and fall protection for safe roof access.
- • Install and flash roof penetrations with metal flashing and sealants.
- • Install, repair, or replace standing seam, corrugated, and metal shingle systems.
- • Cut and form panels and flashings to fit roof angles using shears, snips, or brakes.
- • Install underlayment, vapor barriers, and roof insulation beneath metal panels.
- • Seal fasteners and seams with gaskets, butyl tape, and sealants to prevent leaks.
- • Lay out and fasten panels with clips or screws, aligning with chalk lines.
- • Cover roofs or walls with steel, aluminum, copper, or zinc panels using hand and power tools.
- • Remove snow, water, or debris from roof surfaces before work begins.
- • Apply elastomeric or acrylic coatings to protect and seal metal roofs.
