Apply remote sensing principles to collect, process, and analyze geospatial data supporting resource management, urban planning, environmental monitoring, and security. Operate and maintain sensors and software, ensure data quality, and produce actionable maps, analytics, and reports; assist with calibration and workflow automation.
  • • Analyze aerial, satellite, and ground-sensor data with GIS and image processing tools.
  • • Build and maintain remote sensing and geospatial databases.
  • • Integrate ancillary geospatial datasets into remote sensing projects.
  • • Prepare clear maps, visualizations, and technical reports.
  • • Organize, document, and version geospatial data and workflows.
  • • Process imagery to generate land cover, change detection, and other products.
  • • Implement and optimize data collection, processing, and display workflows.
  • • Coordinate operation and maintenance of remote sensing hardware and software.
  • • Collect and manage field and climatic data to validate analyses.
  • • Collaborate on project goals, methods, and equipment needs with team members.
  • • Develop and maintain automated preprocessing and QA/QC scripts.
  • • Configure, calibrate, and customize existing sensors and analytical tools.
  • • Manage, quality-check, and analyze remote sensing datasets for actionable results.
  • • Monitor data collection quality and recommend procedural or equipment adjustments.
  • • Install, configure, and test new remote sensing hardware and software.
  • • Stay current with remote sensing tools, standards, and best practices.
  • • Perform fieldwork to deploy sensors and collect ground truth.
  • • Recommend hardware, software, or data acquisitions.
  • • Set up and maintain data ingestion pipelines and collection systems.
  • • Train users and technicians on remote sensing tools and workflows.
  • • Apply remote sensing to environmental and resource issues, such as surface water or dust.
  • • Support forest monitoring and carbon accounting using remote sensing data.
  • • Compile, mosaic, and format imagery to enhance usability.
  • • Evaluate and apply established remote sensing methods; document improvements.
