Description
Source, negotiate, and procure machinery, materials, equipment, supplies, and services to support operations and manufacturing. Manage supplier selection, contracts, and order fulfillment to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- • Source and procure goods, materials, and services at best total cost, quality, and delivery.
- • Review requisitions; prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs and purchase orders.
- • Research and qualify suppliers based on price, quality, service, capacity, compliance, and history.
- • Analyze bids, cost breakdowns, and financial data to determine fair and reasonable pricing.
- • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethics, and applicable laws and regulations.
- • Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer supplier contracts and agreements.
- • Track orders and shipments; expedite and resolve delays, shortages, or undelivered goods.
- • Work with users and suppliers to address nonconforming or defective goods and define corrective actions.
- • Monitor supplier performance and contract compliance; recommend changes or remedies as needed.
- • Maintain accurate procurement records in ERP/P2P systems, including POs, pricing, deliveries, and KPIs.
- • Research industry sources and collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify needed goods and services.
- • Partner with inventory and operations to align purchasing with demand, safety stocks, and replenishment plans.
- • Conduct supplier visits and interviews to evaluate capabilities, quality systems, and pricing.
- • Coordinate logistics, duty, and freight charges with carriers and brokers.
- • Mentor or supervise junior procurement staff, buyers, or expediters as assigned.
- • Develop and review specifications and statements of work; maintain technical knowledge of categories.
- • Track market conditions, supply risks, and price trends to inform sourcing strategies.
- • Contribute to procurement policies, bid procedures, and standard operating processes.
- • Attend supplier meetings and industry events to network and stay current on products and markets.
