Description
Provide 1:1 applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities under the supervision of a BCBA. Implement behavior and skill-acquisition plans, collect data, and promote independence and safety across home, school, clinic, and community settings. Collaborate with families and clinicians to reduce challenging behavior and build communication, social, and daily living skills.
- • Monitor clients' behavior, engagement, and affect during sessions and report concerns to the supervising clinician.
- • Provide direct 1:1 behavioral support and assistance with daily living skills for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- • Implement ABA strategies to teach skills and reduce challenging behavior through structured interaction.
- • Collect and record accurate data on target behaviors and skill acquisition per the treatment plan.
- • Facilitate social, communication, play, and pre-vocational activities to build independence and peer interaction.
- • Collaborate with BCBAs, psychologists, therapists, and educators to carry out treatment plans.
- • Teach adaptive, self-care, safety, and community skills using prompting, shaping, and reinforcement.
- • Use proactive supports and de-escalation strategies; follow crisis and safety plans per training.
- • Support clients with hygiene, toileting, meals, and organization when part of treatment goals.
- • Implement behavior intervention plans and reinforcement schedules with high treatment integrity.
- • Maintain timely, accurate session notes and documentation in accordance with agency procedures and privacy laws.
- • Assist with assessments by conducting preference assessments and recording baseline observations under supervision.
- • Deliver 1:1 ABA sessions and small-group skills training as directed by the plan.
- • Communicate session progress and home carryover strategies to caregivers as guided by the supervisor.
- • Mentor or shadow-train new staff on program protocols and data collection, as assigned.
- • Conduct sessions in home, school, clinic, and community settings to promote generalization and attend team meetings.
