Description
Lead the creative and business strategy for film, television, or digital productions from development through delivery. Secure financing and rights, assemble key talent and crews, set the vision and package the project, and oversee budgets, schedules, and stakeholder relationships. Approve major creative and operational decisions and ensure the final product meets quality, brand, and distribution requirements.
  • • Source, evaluate, and option intellectual property and concepts.
  • • Secure financing through investors, studios, grants, and incentives.
  • • Package projects with writers, directors, and principal talent.
  • • Approve overall creative vision, tone, and target audience.
  • • Hire and supervise showrunners, directors, and key department heads.
  • • Approve budgets, cash flows, and cost reports.
  • • Set production schedules and delivery timelines with producers and UPMs.
  • • Negotiate deals with talent, agencies, co-producers, and vendors.
  • • Act as primary liaison with networks, studios, and distributors.
  • • Oversee script development and approve drafts and revisions.
  • • Guide casting strategy and approve lead and key supporting roles.
  • • Approve major production resources, locations, and vendors.
  • • Monitor dailies and cuts to ensure quality and brand standards.
  • • Resolve high-level creative and personnel conflicts.
  • • Ensure union, legal, insurance, and compliance requirements are met.
  • • Manage risk, contingency planning, and escalations.
  • • Review and approve marketing strategy, key art, and trailers.
  • • Coordinate publicity, press, and talent participation with marketing.
  • • Oversee product placement, sponsorships, and brand integrations.
  • • Approve post-production workflows, music, and final mixes.
  • • Sign off on final cuts and delivery assets to buyers and platforms.
  • • Track performance metrics and optimize release or programming strategy.
  • • Lead production status meetings and report progress to stakeholders.
  • • Oversee procurement of rights, licenses, and clearances.
  • • Support tax credit applications and production incentive compliance.
  • • Greenlight milestones and authorize change orders.
  • • Maintain the production slate and pipeline planning.
  • • Develop and manage P&L, forecasts, and investor reporting.
  • • Write and present pitches, proposals, and decks to buyers.
  • • Cultivate relationships with creators, talent, and industry partners.
