Description
Under close supervision of licensed therapy staff, perform delegated routine tasks to support patient care and department operations. Duties include preparing patients and treatment areas, assisting with exercises and mobility, maintaining equipment and supplies, transporting patients, and completing basic clerical work.
- • Clean and organize treatment areas; disinfect equipment after sessions.
- • Observe patients during therapy and promptly report responses, pain, or safety issues to licensed staff.
- • Assist, motivate, and safeguard patients practicing exercises or functional activities under direction.
- • Position and secure patients on therapy equipment or in treatment setups as instructed.
- • Transport or escort patients to and from therapy areas using wheelchairs or walking support.
- • Communicate with therapy staff to relay patient information and coordinate care logistics.
- • Document support activities, patient attendance, and equipment used as directed.
- • Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, taking messages, filing, and completing forms.
- • Take inventory, restock supplies, and help order materials for the therapy department.
- • Maintain and inspect equipment and furniture; assemble or disassemble accessories as needed.
- • Set up treatment equipment and supplies for exercises or modalities per therapist direction.
- • Change linens and maintain cleanliness of treatment surfaces.
- • Arrange and label treatment supplies to keep them orderly and accessible.
- • Assist patients with dressing, undressing, and donning or doffing braces, splints, or slings under supervision.
- • Collect basic measurements such as height, weight, or vital signs as directed; assist with ROM setup.
- • Support patient mobility and transfers using safe techniques and approved devices.
- • Assist with basic patient care tasks as assigned, such as passing trays or aiding with hygiene for patients on bed rest.
- • Schedule therapy appointments and help coordinate therapists' calendars.
- • Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards and follow infection-control policies.
