Description
Administer end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculation of time, wages, and deductions. Maintain and reconcile payroll records, prepare pay runs and reports, ensure tax compliance, and support employees and managers.
- • Prepare, reconcile, and submit payroll tax filings and payments.
- • Reconcile payroll accounts and tie out payroll registers to general ledger and bank statements.
- • Produce and submit payroll and benefits reports to Finance and HR.
- • Support audits by providing documentation and explaining payroll processes.
- • Maintain and optimize payroll and timekeeping system configurations and controls.
- • Train supervisors and employees on timekeeping and payroll self-service tools.
- • Coordinate payroll-related programs, such as charitable deductions and wellness incentives.
- • Ensure confidentiality and data security of payroll information.
- • Provide employment and wage verifications as authorized.
- • Process and finalize regular and off-cycle payrolls accurately and on schedule.
- • Compute wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions per policy and law.
- • Validate and import time and attendance data; resolve exceptions and errors.
- • Review timesheets and pay calculations to identify and reconcile discrepancies.
- • Maintain employee payroll records, including tax withholdings, direct deposit, and status changes.
- • Enter and audit new hire, transfer, and termination data in the payroll system.
- • Prepare and distribute pay statements and year-end forms (e.g., W-2).
- • Calculate and process retro pay, adjustments, and corrections.
- • Administer garnishments, levies, and other court-ordered deductions.
- • Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll tax rules and labor regulations.
- • Respond to employee and manager inquiries on pay, taxes, benefits deductions, and policies.
- • Administer leave accruals and paid time off balances; track usage.
