Plan, coordinate, and direct funeral, burial, and cremation services, guiding families through arrangements, ensuring legal compliance, and overseeing staff, facilities, and logistics from transfer of remains to final disposition.
  • • Consult with families to plan funeral, memorial, burial, or cremation arrangements.
  • • Explain service options, merchandise, pricing, and packages.
  • • Draft and place obituaries and service notices.
  • • Obtain and file death certificates, burial or cremation permits, and other documents.
  • • Coordinate removal and transportation of remains and attendees.
  • • Arrange or supervise embalming and preparation of remains.
  • • Schedule cemeteries and crematories, including grave openings and closings.
  • • Arrange clergy, celebrants, musicians, or speakers.
  • • Select and brief pallbearers and honorary groups.
  • • Plan venue setup, floral displays, lighting, and audio-visual needs.
  • • Direct visitations, ceremonies, processions, and graveside services.
  • • Close caskets and lead corteges when required.
  • • Coordinate shipment or receipt of remains for out-of-area services.
  • • Advise survivors on veterans, Social Security, or insurance benefits.
  • • Manage preneed consultations, contracts, and records.
  • • Maintain financial records, invoices, and inventory; process payments.
  • • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff and vendors.
  • • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • • Oversee facility presentation and cleanliness.
  • • Participate in community outreach and aftercare support.
  • • Welcome and seat mourners during services.
