Description
Install, test, calibrate, read, and maintain electric, gas, water, or steam meters and related communication devices, troubleshooting faults to ensure accurate consumption data and safe, reliable service.
- • Install, program, and replace electric, gas, water, or steam meters and endpoints.
- • Test and calibrate meters with approved equipment to verify accuracy.
- • Read meters and capture consumption data with handhelds or AMI systems.
- • Diagnose and correct meter, socket, or communication faults in the field.
- • Inspect for tampering, defects, damage, and safety hazards, and reseal meters.
- • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on meters and associated hardware.
- • Connect and disconnect utility services per work orders and safety procedures.
- • Verify abnormal usage, investigate causes, and document findings.
- • Update asset records, locations, and configuration details in company systems.
- • Upload and download routes, firmware, and configurations, and sync data to office systems.
- • Respond to customer inquiries about meter operations and access, and escalate billing issues as needed.
- • Report site impediments and coordinate access or appointments to complete work.
