Description
Oversee and execute the technical production of live and recorded television and radio content, coordinating taping, editing, engineering, and maintenance teams to deliver a reliable, compliant on-air product.
- • Direct the technical execution of newscasts and other productions, switching sources and ensuring shots and graphics meet the rundown.
- • Test and configure control room, studio, and remote equipment to ensure proper operation.
- • Monitor on-air and program feeds to ensure quality and compliance with station and network policies.
- • Observe program monitors and coordinate camera shading and composition with camera operators and CCU.
- • Serve as liaison between production and engineering, escalating issues and coordinating fixes.
- • Supervise and assign duties to technical crew for studio and remote productions.
- • Schedule and coordinate use of studios, control rooms, and edit facilities with operations.
- • Collaborate with operations to establish and maintain practical technical workflows and standards.
- • Operate switchers, routers, playback, and graphics systems in studio and on remotes.
- • Train staff on switchers, cameras, monitors, microphones, intercoms, and lights.
- • Build and execute transitions and effects—cuts, dissolves, keys, DVEs, and supers—per show needs.
- • Support promotions and creative teams in the technical production of on-air promos and spots.
- • Consult with directors of photography and video operators on lens, filter, and look choices.
- • Follow director and producer calls during live and recorded productions for cuts, effects, graphics, and takes.
- • Document show files, patch lists, and control room setups; back up and restore configurations.
