Description
Plan, design, and furnish interiors for commercial spaces—offices, retail, hospitality, and healthcare—to meet business goals, brand, and user needs. Produce functional, code-compliant layouts and construction documents; specify FF&E and finishes; coordinate with consultants and contractors; and manage budgets, schedules, and client approvals.
  • • Develop budgets and estimates for finishes, fixtures, and build-outs; present schemes for client approval.
  • • Lead programming sessions with stakeholders to define business goals, headcount, adjacencies, budget, and brand requirements.
  • • Advise on space planning, test fits, workplace standards, furniture systems, equipment layouts, and finish palettes.
  • • Specify and procure commercial FF&E, artwork, and accessories aligned with durability and code.
  • • Create design concepts that enhance employee productivity, customer experience, and brand expression.
  • • Coordinate vendors and subcontractors for fabrication, delivery, and installation of finishes, millwork, lighting, and FF&E.
  • • Produce 2D/3D renderings, mood boards, and presentations to communicate design intent.
  • • Plan and design interiors for offices, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and other commercial environments.
  • • Collaborate with architects, MEP/structural engineers, lighting designers, and contractors throughout design and construction.
  • • Review and redline shop drawings, submittals, and samples for compliance with design intent.
  • • Develop code-compliant construction documents and specifications using Revit/CAD and related software.
  • • Ensure compliance with ADA, IBC, life-safety, egress, and fire-rating requirements.
  • • Conduct site surveys, construction administration visits, and punch lists to verify quality and adherence.
  • • Integrate sustainable strategies and materials; support LEED/WELL documentation when applicable.
  • • Research new materials, finishes, furniture systems, and technologies suitable for high-traffic commercial use.
  • • Interpret zoning, occupancy loads, and health and safety codes to inform planning and permitting.
