Description
Lead integrated water and hydroelectric services, overseeing dams, reservoirs, and generation facilities to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable service. Direct maintenance, monitoring, compliance, and capital plans for hydroelectric equipment and water conveyance assets to optimize efficiency and protect the environment.
- • Set strategy and policies for integrated water and hydroelectric services.
- • Oversee commissioning and acceptance of dams, reservoirs, turbines, and supporting electrical or mechanical systems.
- • Lead programs to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness across plants and water conveyance.
- • Prioritize and authorize capital upgrades, asset renewals, and major maintenance for hydro and water facilities.
- • Engage with ratepayers, water and power users, tribes, regulators, and community partners to resolve issues.
- • Direct long-term capital plans for hydropower plants, dams, pipelines, and control systems.
- • Coordinate generation scheduling with water supply, flood control, recreation, and environmental flow requirements.
- • Ensure environmental compliance and oversee spill response, containment, and remediation activities.
- • Ensure safe operation of substations, switchyards, and SCADA-controlled assets through standards, training, and audits.
- • Ensure accurate operations, maintenance, and compliance records for hydro and water assets.
- • Review performance dashboards and inspection results for turbines, generators, gates, penstocks, and control systems.
- • Conduct or approve safety and compliance audits of plants, switchyards, control houses, and dam safety programs.
- • Lead identification, communication, and response for power, dam safety, flood, and drought emergencies.
- • Develop and approve budgets, integrated resource plans, service contracts, power and water rates, SOPs, and engineering studies.
- • Approve operating setpoints, voltage schedules, reservoir targets, and release plans consistent with reliability and regulations.
- • Verify compliance with operating limits for load, voltage, temperature, flow, water quality, and equipment condition.
- • Ensure adherence to FERC, NERC, OSHA, EPA, state water rights, and dam safety requirements.
- • Direct integrated operations, maintenance, and outage planning for water and hydroelectric systems.
